More than 1.000 km well prepared hiking trails lead you past clear mountain rivers, massive rocks and breathtaking waterfalls – immerse in the breathtaking mountain world of the Silvretta Arena.

    Either proceed directly from the town into Tyrol’s hiking realm, taking the cable cars up, and immerse yourself while up at the top in the impressive Silvretta mountains; or take the hiking bus to the neighbouring towns, which are also the starting point for many hiking routes.

    No matter if you just want to enjoy the hiking tours or if you are a dedicated summiteer - the adventurous footpaths around Ischgl in the Tyrol cater for all the tastes and demands. Range over the different vegetation zones of the region, go across the vertiginous suspension bridges, observe the alpine animals like ibexes, chamois’s or marmots and enjoy the unique view over the unbelievable mountain scenery one you have you crest the summit.

    An interesting and instructive variation of the hiking pleasure in Ischgl is the cultural hiking on historical footpaths where history comes to life.     Mathon Circuit hike

    Duration: 2 h | Distance: 6,5 km | Difficulty: easy
    Starting in Mathon walk up to the Dreikönigs-chapell and follow the sign posts of the circuit hike.  When you cross the river named Matnal, you can have a refreshing rest. On your way back you can make a stop in the wildlife park Mathon and gaze indigenous animals in the children’s zoo.

    Idalp Adventura Hiking Trail
    Duration: 2 h | Distance: 7,5 km | Difficulty: easy

    Get impressed on this trail passing by the Vider Truja Park, the “hohe Zirbe” , the Kitzloch ravine und der Bärenfalle suspension bridge with a span of 110 m.

    Duration: 5,5 h | Distance: 15 km | Difficulty: middle
    Starting from the Silvretta cable car station in Ischgl cross the main road and follow the signposts to the Madleinsee, follow the hiking trail to Mutta and Kreuzbichl until you reach to the impressive lake called Madleinsee.

    Schmugglertour Samnaun
    Duration: 6,5 h | Distance: 20 km | Difficulty: middle
    The cable car takes you to Idalp mountain station and from there the route heads to the Greitspitze at 2,871 metres sea level. Then follow the hiking trail to Salaaser Kopf, Zeblasjoch to Samnaun. During a long time, until the end of the 2nd world war,  Samnaun has been a lucrative destination for smugglers from Paznaun.  Nowadays the price differences are a lot less than 30 years ago. (Samnaun is a duty-free zone). The aerial cable-car in Samnaun, with its double-deck gondola, is one of the biggest of its kind in the world.
