Our story
Three generations & our history
Together as a family, as a team, we have created a real home at Piz Tasna, a 'Daham', a place to feel good, to laugh and to enjoy.
Of course, none of this happened in a short space of time. Our hotel can already look back on a long history. Take a look with us at the past, at the history, at the roots. From today back to the 70s.
A Mountain - A Vision
And so, the idea was born.
A ski tour guided by Franz to the beautiful mountain "Piz Tasna" with an 80-year-old noblewoman from Great Britain was exactly the experience that inspired
Franz to name our "Daham". The Piz Tasna is a 3179m high mountain peak located about 3 hours away from the Heidelbergerhütte in the Silvretta.

The structure
How did it all begin? With nothing more than a grill restaurant and three guest rooms. What made it so special? The warmth and passion with which Franz and Ingrid ran their business. Also unique was that there were already hot water showers in the rooms, only the toilets were still in the corridor.
Franz & his stories
"We were told that when Franz sat at his regular spot at the bar in the evening, our guests would fight to get the next seat next to our 'Neni' so they could listen to his stories for hours. Because he could talk about the old days right up to the end" - Michaela and Roland
1974
The first 'DJ' in Ischgl
Even when Franz came back from the slopes in the evening, he was far from resting. He had another passion: entertaining our guests. The grill restaurant was his living room, so to speak, where he played his records and delighted locals and guests alike. He was the first 'DJ' in Ischgl, hearsay.
The two sons Günter and Roland also grew up in this living room. The grill restaurant with show kitchen and music bar was an absolute hit with young and old alike and enabled our family to build a further 20 guest rooms.
A mountain guide and ski guide out of passion
Franz was not only a passionate, but also a state-certified mountain and ski guide, as well as a state-certified ski instructor. His wife Ingrid took care of everything in the business, from the kitchen to the reservations, which at that time still had to be sent by post.
1993
The last conversion for Ingrid & Franz
At the beginning of the 2000s, it was time for a change. Franz and Ingrid decided to modernize the entire Piz Tasna and build a larger wellness facility. This not only brought new guests to us, but the numerous regular guests also greatly appreciated the newly gained comfort.

The next generation(s)
It was time to let the next generation take the helm. Son Roland and his wife Michaela took over the Hotel Piz Tasna full of motivation and enthusiasm, eager to see what the next few years would bring. Ingrid and Franz naturally remained in the business and supported both of them full of enthusiasm, as hospitality was their greatest passion.
But probably the most beautiful milestone this year was the birth of daughter & granddaughter Michelle, from day 1 she delighted her parents, grandparents as well as the guests, and she still does today.
A mountain guide and ski instructor with a passion - likewise in the next generation
Like father, like son. Roland followed in his father Franz's footsteps and began training as a state-certified ski instructor at the age of 18. He also helped out at Piz Tasna from an early age on. On the slopes during the day and back at the hotel in time for the evening business - that was the hard-working junior's daily routine. And if he finished his ski course early, it wasn't down into the valley, but up to the next mountain peak, always the one that could be reached before the evening shift began.

Modernisations
We used the turn of the millennium for further modernization. There was also great news in our family again, Alina was born and completed our family happiness.
Since 2008
We gave our house the nickname "Alpvita" to emphasize the proximity to nature and our beloved Alps. A lot has also happened in the Piz Tasna family. Both daughters attended tourism schools and Michelle has been part of the Piz Tasna team for some time now and is actively working. In a family atmosphere, which also attracts many regular guests, we keep the house up to date, now in the third generation, according to the latest standards, but still small & fine as it was back then.
