    Climbing in Ischgl

    Crest the peaks

For very active people, athletically trained and well equipped mountaineers there are quite a lot of peaks to crest around the Hotel Alpvita Piz Tasna in Ischgl.

But before you venture on the impressive 3000 meter high mountains of the Paznaun valley, you can demonstrate your talent on the diverse vias ferratas.
Here climbing fans as well as inexperienced mountaineers can gain unique climbing experiences and what is more you are recompensed with a marvellous view from the tops of the Silvretta mountains on to the whole Paznaun valley.

Compared with conventional climbing, to scale a via ferrata does not require a lot of background knowledge and less equipment. Normally climbing boots, helmet, seat belt and grapnels are sufficient to experience this sport at first hand and above all safely.

Pre screwed clutches, steps and the safety steel rope help less experienced mountaineers to overcome demanding passages and to discover the fascination and passion of climbing. However people, who only have little experience with this sport, should take guide with them who shows basic concepts, exercises and tips and tricks – to experience the sense of achievement even faster.

    Via ferrata Flimspitz

The via ferrata Flimspitz is almost 3.000 m high and offers a breathtaking view. The easy but quite attractive via ferrata leads up to the summit cross of the highest mountain in the skiing area of Ischgl.
With and elevation gain of 120 meters and 200 meters long it is of easy to middle difficulty level (A to B) and can be scaled in about 20 –25 minutes. Once you arrive on top, a small and easy path leads up to the summit, from there you have an overwhelming view on to the Swiss and the Italian Alps, - an adequate compensation for the stiff climb!

    Via ferrata Greitspitze

Although this via ferrata is quite short, on the top of the mountain at 2.852 meter sea level rewarding views are waiting for you.
The difficulty level of this via ferrata is mainly in level B, only some short passages are more difficult, level C or C/D, but they can be skirt around taking another passage. This via ferrata surely is a challenge for enthused climbers, and not recommendable for beginners without guide!
Via the Silvretta cable car and the Flimjoch lift, after 45 minutes you will reach the Viderjoch at 2.757 meters sea level, the access to the via ferrata is at the spur of the western crest of the Greitspitz at about 2720 meter sea level.
